After overcoming perosnal tragedy, widowed father and champion musher, Leonhard 'Sepp' Seppala, steps up in the midst of a deadly diptheria outbreak in Nome, Alaska to deliver anti-toxin to the hospital. Based on a true story, The Great Alaskan Race tells the story of Leonhard Seppala, and his dog Togo, and how they saved the small town of Nome in 1925. We follwow Sepp's harrowing journey as he travels farther than any other msuher, more than 400 miles. With his own child's life on the line, Sepp battles the impossible, accompanied by his trusty pack of sled dogs.
