What is The Buzludzha Monument about?
The UFO building, officially known as Buzludzha, was originally built by the Bulgarian communist regime to commemorate the events of the 1981 battle between the Bulgarian rebels and the Turks.All that remains today is an empty shell of shattered concrete, peeling velvet ceiling, mosaic tiles, and anti-communist graffiti. Let's hope the government doesn't ruin it by turning it into a tourist attraction! The view from the top is amazing, and on a clear, calm day, is a cool place to chill out!
