Interactive Entertainment.[1][2] The game takes place during the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga and was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.[1][2] The release date was moved from October 7, 2014 to September 30, 2014,[3] except in Australia where the release date has remained at October 8, 2014 for all platforms.
