"I feel good" makes use of hockey signifiers that stand in as metaphors for prescriptive masculinity, small town mentality, and broken communication between my brother and I. Our recorded conversation makes it apparent that we are both frustrated with male masculinity and we both fail to perform it, but we lack a common language to talk to each other about our feelings. Our parents were amazing hockey players, we were terrible skaters/stick handlers/team players.
